How to use MainWP BackWPUp?
After installing and activating the BackWPup plugin, you will see a menu named BackWPup on your Dashboard.
To determine if your server configuration is compatible with BackWPUp, navigate to BackWPUp -> Settings -> Information. Here, you can view the versions of the various software components running on your hosting environment.
Create BackWPUp Job
· Creat a Global Job
- Login in to your MainWP Dashboard.
- Go to the MainWP > Extensions > BackWPup > Add New Job page.
- In the Job Name option box:
- Enter a Name for the Backup Job
- In the Job Tasks option box:
- Set tasks that you want to include in this Job.
- Next, set the backup file creation preferences in the Backup File Creation option box:
- First, set the backup archive name
- After that, choose a backup archive format
- The next step is to set where do you want to keep your backup files
- You can select one or multiple destinations
- In the Email Logs option box
- Click the Save Changes button
After pressing the Save Changes button, the extension will create this backup job on all your child sites that don’t have the Individual Settings in use.
· Create Schedule on a Single Site
- Login in to your MainWP Dashboard
- Go to the MainWP > Sites > Manage page
- Locate the site where you want to create a Backup Job
- Click the Edit action and go to the BackWPup tab
- Click the Add New Job tab
- In the BackWPup Site Settings option box, set the Overwrite General Setting option to YES and click the Save button
- In the Job Name option box, enter a Name for the Backup Job
- In the Job Tasks option box, set tasks that you want to include in this Job
- Next, set the backup file creation preferences in the Backup File Creation option box. First, set the backup archive name. After that, choose a backup archive format
- The next step is to set where you want to keep your backup files. You can select one or multiple destinations
- In the Email Logs option box, enter your email address to receive logs, set the Email From settings and choose if you want to receive logs only when errors occur during job execution.
- Click the Save Changes button. After pressing the Save Changes button, the extension will create this backup job on the child site.
· Job Additional Settings
Once the job is successfully created, a new set of options will appear for you, depending on your previous settings.
The extension will allow you to manage schedule settings, selected job tasks settings, and selected destination settings.
· Schedule Settings
Select if you want to run the job manually, via WP-Cron, or with a URL.
Run WordPress Backup
Now to test the Job, go to BackWPUp -> Jobs -> click the Run now button of the newly created job to start the backup to see if there are any errors.
And it will start back up we can see the progress as shown below.
You can click on the ‘Display working log’ button to monitor the progress and check for any errors indicated in red.When it’s finished (100%), head over to BackWPup -> Backups to grab your backup and download it.”
